Rocket Mailing - Email Campaign ManagementFAQ

FAQ

Will Rocket Spam work with any ISP?
Yes - Rocket Spam will work on ANY Internet Service Provider. We have customers on Xtra, Clear, Paradise, Ihug, Snap and Netaccess to name just a few.

What will Rocket Spam do for me?
Rocket Spam will automatically filter and remove unwanted emails (spam and virus email) from your mailbox. The really great thing about it is that you don't have to do anything. No learning, no updating, no viewing your mailbox before collecting your mail, you do NOTHING apart from simply collecting your email in your usual way. We do the rest.

What happens to all my bad emails, can I look at them and see for myself?
Yes you can. When we detect a bad email it is quickly moved to your own personal folder. From here you have 7 days to look at them and check if there is anything you wish to keep. After 7 days they are automatically deleted one day at a time. Another option that some customers choose is to still have the spam and virus mail delivered except we simply label it in the subject line as "SPAM EMAIL" or "VIRUS EMAIL".

What else will Rocket Spam do for me?
All we do is filter and/or block spam and virus email.

What is the difference between the AV software I have on my computer now and the AV software Rocket Spam uses?
There are a number of differences. Firstly our AV software is not designed to be run on a stand-alone work station, as most software is, and is priced accordingly. AV software is only ever as good as the up-to-date virus definitions it has available to it. Most main stream AV programs update their definitions (on average) every 14 days. This is not an acceptable level for a mission critical computer/network.

So how often is your "Real Time" AV software updated?
Our spam and virus software definitions are updated every 4 hours - yes, that right 6 times per day. Updates, alterations and additions are normally made at least twice per day.

If I have Rocket Spam do I still have to have AV software on my computer?
Yes! We can protect you from viruses that arrive through the email. 98% of all viruses come from email but 1% - 2% can arrive on floppys or CD's etc. For this reason we recommend you still have up-to-date AV software on your PC.

How does Rocket Spam know what emails are good and what emails are bad?
That is a good question. We have looked at many different systems and after exhaustive testing and adjusting we have a combination of systems that provide an extremely accurate way of identifying spam. Thousands of known good and bad emails are passed through the system to "learn". Everyday the system is fed more and more email and it continues to learn.

Can other people see my email?
No. Rocket Spam is 100% private and secure. You have a username and password that identifies you so that only you can access your emails.

What is Content Filtering?
Content filters are set on a per user basis. For example, you may not want to receive the Xtra Max Newmann news letter - we can filter this out of your mailbox while other users may like to keep it. You can specify what you would like filtered out. Maybe an annoying or persistent person continues to email you - we can filter out such emails.

Why is Rocket Spam stopping my emails and saying they have "restricted attachments"?
Restricted Attachments are files/programs/attachment that have arrived with your email. We have programmed our server to stop only the attachment that can cause damage to your computer. Sometimes this filter may stop files that could be jokes and other such files, it is probably better sacrifice these files in return for a clean and safe computer.
